Periodontology

Periodontology is the branch of dentistry concerned with diseases of the periodontium. The general term for inflammatory and degenerative conditions of the supporting tissues of the tooth is called periodontopathy.

Afectiunile parodontale sunt boli care afecteaza tesuturile de sustinere a dintilor, inclusiv gingiile si osul de sub dinti.
Periodontal conditions represent an infection of the tissues that support the teeth. The gums are attached to the teeth in such a way that they form a V-shaped gingival sulcus at the base of the tooth. (more…)

The treatment of periodontal disease

Boala parodontala este o infecție a țesuturilor care susțin dinții.
Periodontal disease is a chronic condition caused by the microbial flora in the oral cavity. It affects the structures that support the tooth or are located on the dental arch: the gum, the periodontal ligament, and the alveolar bone.

Gingii care sângerează uşor (de exemplu, la periaj sau folosirea aţei dentare), gingii roşii, umflate sau dureroase, gingii care par să se retragă de la dinţi, puroi între dinţi şi gingii, respiraţie urât mirositoare persistentă sau un gust neplăcut în gură, dinţi mobilitate.
Initially, gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums, appears, after which the disease progresses to deeper structures. Gingivitis manifests as bleeding during brushing or chewing, and a change in gum colour, which becomes reddish-purple. A feeling of tightness and itching also occurs. (more…)
