You can study every stage of a procedure. You can know, in theory, what you are going to do next.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Yet the patient in front of you is not an illustration from a textbook.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Each case has its own particularities. Sometimes, two situations that seem almost identical at first glance require different approaches. Other times, the doctor has to make a decision in a very short time, based on everything they have learned up to that point.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Here begins <em>experience.<\/em><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/chiromax.ro\/en\/carte-vizita-dr-julea\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr. <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Ionel Julea<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, founder of the Chiromax Gala\u021bi dental clinic and senior specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, is one of the authors of the volume <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201eManual of Oral Surgery. Anatomy, Pathology and Surgical Techniques\u201d<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, alongside Adrian-Mihail Nistor, Alexandru Diaconesa-Maier and Tudor Nicolae.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For <a href=\"https:\/\/chiromax.ro\/en\/\">Chiromax<\/a>, the connection to this book is a natural one.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Because the clinic's story began right here: in surgery<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3ee36d2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3ee36d2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Before Chiromax, there was surgery <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8af87ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8af87ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the early 2000s, before the clinic of today existed, Dr Ionel Julea was working in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chiromax.ro\/en\/maxillofacial-surgery\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">oral and maxillofacial surgery<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and was building his own medical practice.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the beginning there was a surgery.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>That's all.<\/strong><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Then more complex cases appeared, colleagues from other specialities and the need to look at the patient's problems from multiple angles.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Some situations are not resolved with a single specialty. A case can begin at <em>surgery<\/em> and can continue with <em>Implantology<\/em>, prosthetics or other treatments. And when things get complicated, collaboration between doctors is no longer just useful. It becomes part of the solution.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">From this idea, the dental clinic developed over time <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chiromax.ro\/en\/about-chiromax\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chiromax<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The clinic has changed a lot since then. The team has grown. There have appeared <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chiromax.ro\/en\/services-chiromax\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">new specialisms, technologies and types of treatment<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But the starting point remained the same: <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">surgery and the expertise built around it.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-647e736 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"647e736\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How much medicine is hidden behind a \u201esimple\u201d procedure? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-076d83f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"076d83f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For a patient, the phrase <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">oral surgery<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> It might sound quite abstract.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Until a concrete problem arises.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">An impacted wisdom tooth. A difficult extraction. A cyst. An infection. A lesion that needs to be investigated or removed.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">From the outside, some interventions seem short. Perhaps even simple.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Yet the duration of a procedure says very little about what the doctor needs to know in order to do it properly.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Behind the scenes there are many things that cannot be seen:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>anatomy of the area;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>investigations and diagnosis;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>choosing the right technique;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>anticipating difficulties;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>the actual surgical manoeuvres;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>complication management;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>postoperative patient monitoring.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For the patient, it can be an hour spent in the clinic.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For the doctor, <i>that hour brings together years of preparation.<\/i><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And this is precisely where the connection to an oral surgery textbook comes in.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-36c63b9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"36c63b9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Anatomy, pathology and technique. But put together <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2578761 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2578761\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The volume's title states very clearly what it contains: <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">anatomy, pathology and surgical techniques<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On paper, they seem like three different branches of medicine.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In practice, however, they cannot be separated so easily.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To choose a technique, you need to understand anatomy very well. To know <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">why<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Look, you need to understand the pathology. And to carry the intervention through to the end, theory must be translated into precise gestures.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The manual focuses precisely on this link between what the doctor knows and what they actually do.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Anatomical foundations, clinical situations and techniques used in oral surgery are presented in a format designed for students, early-career doctors and professionals looking to deepen their knowledge.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To the patient, much of this information will remain invisible.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><b>And it's normal for it to be like that.<\/b><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The patient does not need to know every anatomical plane, every stage of a procedure, or every possible complication.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The surgeon must.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And the difference shows in the way a case is evaluated, in the decisions made before the intervention, and in the way the doctor reacts when things do not go exactly according to the ideal scenario.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0f7198f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0f7198f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Medical books do not replace experience.
